The efficient design of new earth structures and the restoration old both require a reliable assessment compressive strength materials. However, there is still much debate on best method to accurately measure blocks. To solve problem measuring block, cube specimen, half-block stacked full-size block specimen are used molded adobe rammed adobe, respectively, considering influence preparation process, loading direction, capping, other factors. By comparing analyzing stress state, failure mode, under various test methods, blocks determined, which simple operate, easy standardize, as close possible actual results show that compression along thickness direction should be preferred block. standard obtained by cutting not suitable for block; it can effectively small-thickness cannot directly measured in half stacking it, but recommended use binder bond two half-blocks.
